An Experience All Around You

Visio is an immersive experience space based on the Deep Space technology concept developed by Ars Electronica. The space features wall and floor projection surfaces measuring 9 × 16 metres each. Eight projectors deliver stunning 8K visuals across these surfaces. Visio also features a state-of-the-art spatial audio system and a laser tracking system that tracks players’ positions on the floor.

Visio’s presentations explore science, art and history, offering new perspectives on the world and opportunities for learning through immersive experiences. Content can also be presented in 3D and interactive formats, enhancing the sense of immersion and encouraging visitors to become active participants. At Visio, the experience is created through the interaction between the space, technology, content, experience guide and visitors.

Good to know about Visio presentations

Presentation times: Presentations generally start twice an hour, on the hour and at half past, and last approximately 20–25 minutes. Sensory-friendly presentations are also available. You can find the detailed schedule on the screen in Tiima’s lobby.
Content: Each presentation consists of several different segments, which an experience guide introduces to the audience. Visio is therefore not a traditional cinema.
Participation and movement: You are free to move around during all presentations. Some presentations include interactive games in which visitors can participate. Children are also welcome to play and crawl, but running around should be avoided unless it is part of a game led by an experience guide. Seating is also available for those who prefer to watch while seated.
Number of participants: Visio can accommodate up to 80 people. In some interactive presentations, the number of active participants is limited, while the rest of the audience can watch the activities.
3D presentations: Some presentations use 3D glasses, which are provided upon entering the space. Staff will explain how to use them and when they are needed. 3D effects may cause dizziness, for example.
Flashing lights: Some presentations contain intense flashing lights.
Leaving during a presentation: You may leave the space during a presentation if necessary.
Accessibility: Visio is accessible, and visitors using wheelchairs or other mobility aids can also participate in the presentations. Hearing protection earmuffs are available to borrow during the presentation.
