Studio Outo’s Siimes brings a fairy tale forest into VISIO

Siimes was chosen through a programming call. It enchants visitors by fading state-of-the-art technology and turning a cold, digital space into a warm and living fairy tale.

The presentation combines analogue visuality and sound environment on a large scale. The visitor does not only look at photos, but they will step into the ecosystem surrounding a brook where technical subtleties are revealed through micro stories. The presentation grows gradually from the murmur of the brook into a full, surprising northern forest, offering visitors the rare joy of discovery. It is pedagogically valuable but also a fully immediate experience that invites people of all ages to stop, observe, and fall in love with the little big miracles of nature.

“VISIO offers interesting new opportunities for storytelling. It inspired us to apply immediately when we heard about it. The space itself is impressive, technically and by its scale. We are excited to see what kind of experiences it will offer visitors”, Studio Outo’s Jussi Saarela and Tero Takalo explain excitedly.

VISIO’s curator Maria Gullsten is also more than happy with the choice. “We could not have a better start for the local productions in the Experience Space”, she says.

Experience Space VISIO will open when the Museum and Science Centre Tiima opens in October of 2026. The Space evoked exceptional interest already late last year: over 70 applications have been filed for the programme call, both from Finland and abroad.
